Vernazza is one of the five picturesque villages of Cinque Terre, located along the rugged Ligurian coast of northwestern Italy. Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful villages in Cinque Terre, Vernazza is built around a small natural harbour, with colourful houses climbing steeply up the surrounding hills. The village is known for its charming waterfront, narrow stone lanes, historic Church of Santa Margherita d’Antiochia, and the medieval Doria Castle overlooking the sea. Surrounded by terraced vineyards and dramatic coastal cliffs, Vernazza combines spectacular scenery with a distinctly traditional Italian fishing-village atmosphere, making it one of the highlights of the Cinque Terre landscape.
